Which countries have the highest cancer rates?
The United States has the highest rate of cancer in the world, but it’s not just a one-time occurrence.
As the World Health Organization’s World Cancer Report for 2018 points out, the United States is not immune to the scourge.
“For some time, it has been observed that the US has higher rates of cancer than other countries, and the reasons for this are many,” reads the report.
The US has the second-highest incidence of cancer worldwide, according to the World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF), and its incidence rate is nearly five times higher than that of other high-income countries.
“Cancer is not just an American problem.
It is a global problem,” WCRF Director General Ravi Shankar Prasad said in a statement.
The United Kingdom and Australia have the second and third highest rates of lung cancer, respectively.
“We must all stand together against the global pandemic,” Prasads said.
“It is time to act and act now.”
