What is the difference between India and Nepal?
Posted by The Verge on Saturday, February 27, 2019 13:09:58India and Nepal are both located in the Indian subcontinent and are both predominantly Hindu.
They have two major languages: Hindi and Sanskrit.
India has been the country’s largest trading partner with Nepal since independence in 1947.
Nepal has a large Indian community in the region, with about one million residents.
Nepal’s main trading partner is China.
Both countries have strong ties with the US and the European Union, but both have been rattled by recent events in Nepal, which saw a series of attacks by extremists on people with Indian citizenship.
India has also been at the forefront of efforts to tackle the rise in violent crime.
Earlier this year, a woman was raped in Kathmandu by two men who had entered the city from India.
The violence has been blamed on a new law introduced last year that makes it a criminal offence to cross the border without permission.
