Karnataka regional News: Kallipuram to be upgraded to the high-speed rail category after upgrade to Kallipsuram
Kallipturam in Karnataka is to be considered as a high- speed railway station, with a high number of trains on the line.
A committee headed by the Karnataka State Railway Corporation has cleared the upgrade of the station and has decided to upgrade it to a high speed rail station in 2021.
The Kallippuram Railway Station is situated at the edge of the state capital Kallikonda, about 1,000 km from the city of Thiruvananthapuram, where the train station is situated.
Kallikkumetram, the main train station of the State, is already upgraded to a medium speed station and it is currently the only station on the railway network in the State.
The State Railways has already upgraded all stations on the Kallipluram Line.
The committee also approved a feasibility study on the possibility of upgrading the station to a railway station and recommended that it be upgraded within three years.
High speed trains have already been used in Karnadeshis State for many years and the state government has installed more than 10,000 high speed trackers and more than 6,000 coaches.
Kalki, the railway authority, plans to have high-frequency trackers up and running by 2021.
Railways officials said the Kalkis high speed train service will not be affected in the long run by the new high-Speed Rail Project.
