Romania: LGBT group says no more gay pride parades – AFP
Romanian LGBT activists said on Sunday that the LGBT pride parade on Saturday in the western region of Bardarbunga had been cancelled.
Organisers said that due to security concerns, they would not be able to organise the parade on Sunday.
The pride parade, organised by the regional LGBT group Casa Marce, is one of several held across Romania in the last year as gay pride marches are banned in the country.
The event is expected to draw tens of thousands of people from across the country, with some of the participants having to wear masks to protect themselves from the toxic chemicals used to make the parades.
Gay rights activists say the government is blocking LGBT marches and rallies in the face of mounting evidence of discrimination.
