Why the Browns are in a tough spot with the Browns QB controversy
The Browns are currently 0-4 in games where the quarterback is under center.
Thats the most losses in the NFL by a single player.
The Browns went into that game against the Eagles with a 2-3 record with quarterbacks who were under center, and they lost 31-24.
They have a lot of work to do to get their offense going in the upcoming games, especially if they want to get out of the AFC North.
The team had a couple of big performances, but they were largely unimpressive on offense.
Cleveland has allowed 17 points or more in six of its past seven games, which is the most in the league.
The defense has allowed 20 points or fewer in four of its last six games, and has surrendered 31 points or less in seven of its first 10 games.
The Browns also gave up big plays to other teams.
They allowed 15 catches for 104 yards and a touchdown to the Dolphins on Sunday, and allowed a touchdown on third-and-long to the Jets on Monday.
The Ravens, Dolphins and Jets all threw three or more interceptions.
The Dolphins have given up four touchdown passes on the season, and the Ravens have given away five interceptions.
The biggest play the Browns gave up Sunday was a sack of New England Patriots wide receiver Jarvis Landry that forced a turnover and led to a field goal.
The play set up a first down that led to the Browns’ first touchdown.
The Steelers also had a sack.
The defense also struggled on offense on Sunday.
The team was held to just 21 points, a far cry from their average of 28 points a game during the regular season.
The offensive line was unable to stop the Patriots.
They were also sacked three times on the day, and threw four interceptions.
That is just unacceptable.
The quarterback controversy is not only hurting the team, it is also costing the Browns millions of dollars.
The NFL has a $4.4 million fine for a quarterback that violates team rules.
The league has a cap on quarterback fines at $200,000.
This is the third time the Browns have lost a game with a quarterback who has not been under center this season.
They lost to the Giants by four points with Josh McCown under center in Week 8, and to the Eagles by seven points with Cody Kessler under center against the Ravens in Week 10.
The next game, the Browns will host the Ravens on Saturday.
